Whether you are renovating, refurbishing or redecorating your home it is always important to have smooth walls and ceilings to work with in order to achieve a great finished result. It is the top coat surface of plaster that gives a wall a smooth and workable surface for decorating, and like many things; the art is in the preparation. This is when you require the skills of a specialist plasterer to make sure that your surfaces are expertly plastered and hide any imperfections; especially if you are intending to have a painted finish.

A coating of lime (or cement or gypsum), usually referring to the inside of a structure.
What is lime plaster?
Lime plaster is the fine top coat skim used internally.
There are two grades of lime plaster – Heritage and Regency.
Heritage Lime Plaster is the standard lime skim which produces a traditional match to many historic plasters.
Regency Lime Plaster is an ultra-fine skim using marble dust which is more in keeping with Victorian/Georgian properties and the closest match to gypsum finishes.
What is quick lime?
This is the raw material that is used to make lime putty. Quicklime is made by burning limestone or chalk in a kiln. This drives carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, leaving a very reactive material called quicklime (calcium oxide). It is made in a range of sizes from lumps down to very fine powder.
Is plastering messy?
Peacey Plastering prides itself on is cleanliness. All areas will be sheeted, the plastered area will be left the same when finished as it was before we started. All mixing up of plaster is done in a designated area, covered in plastic and boarded out.
